ABOUT MICHAEL BABALOLA
Michael Babalola is a Director of Photography working across feature film, documentary, and high-end branded storytelling. With a career spanning more than two decades, he brings a strong technical foundation and a story-first visual approach to long-form narrative work.
In 2026, he served as Director of Photography on the feature film METAL, completing a demanding 17-day back-to-back shoot using a dual-camera workflow on RED Helium and RED Gemini, paired with Cooke S7/i primes.
The project required sustained visual continuity, close collaboration with cast and director, and precise execution under production pressure.
His cinematography is defined by grounded compositions, motivated lighting, and a commitment to serving character and story above spectacle.
“My background and culture allows me to understand different perspective, which continually allows me to dig deep in my thought and expression with light and camera composition. This also allows me to utilise my creative, skills and passion to the highest level and not only do i seek to deliver beautiful images for my clients, my commitment, organisation and professionalism means I constantly go the extra mile to ensure the results I deliver exceed my clients expectations”..
